Flashback Friday: The Force returns

Our family has always been a Star Wars family. We don’t go to conventions or anything but we always really liked the movies and our son connected to it at a young age. He had a collection of light sabers that now rivals his collection of Nerf guns. He pretty much didn’t go anywhere without a saber. This got us into trouble one summer when we were detained going through security for Ellis Island because they found a light saber in our stroller! I guess none of the security agents were Star Wars devotees because they honestly seemed perplexed by the toy. I still laugh to see that my kid’s Star Wars obsession was strong enough to Force (pardon the pun) my father to dress up as Darth Vader one year for Halloween and that my sister is still called “Auntie Yoda” instead of “Auntie Laura”.

Flash forward 6 years and the recent Star Wars movie was a hit in our household. We have had some interesting dinner table discussions and movie analysis of late. I even dug up some photos of our little Padawan. I thought you might get a kick out of them for a Flashback Friday. Merek begrudgingly gave me permission to post these. Or did he? Maybe I used a Jedi mind trick on him…
